A New Platform for Sustainable Innovation and Business Transformation

On May 13–14, 2025, Hall 3 of the National Palace of Culture (NDK) in Sofia became a hub for innovation, collaboration, and sustainable business solutions. In partnership with the Food and Drink Bulgaria Association and the Bulgarian Food Bank, the Mate Kitchen Foundation organized the first Sustainable Development & Zero Waste Forum – a landmark event bringing together visionary leaders, business professionals, policymakers, and sustainability experts to explore and share practical solutions for a more sustainable future.

The inaugural edition of the forum focused on the business perspective of sustainability, demonstrating how measurable results, responsible resource management, and innovative business models can accelerate the transition towards a circular economy. Throughout the two-day event, participants explored a wide range of topics, including food waste management, sustainable fashion, resource and energy efficiency, digital transformation, and circular business practices.

The forum featured inspiring keynote presentations, expert panel discussions, and international speakers, encouraging meaningful dialogue on sustainable consumption, recycling, energy efficiency, circular economy principles, and environmental innovation. More than just a conference, the event became a platform for knowledge sharing, strategic partnerships, and the exchange of best practices, contributing to the development of a more resilient and sustainable economy.

What We Did

The concept, organisation, and communication strategy for the forum were developed and executed by Mate Bulgaria. The agency designed the event’s vision, program structure, and content format – from the strategic framework and agenda to the visual identity and the consistent integration of the Zero Waste message throughout every touchpoint.

Mate Bulgaria managed the entire organisational process, while also producing all key communication assets, including the visual direction, advertising materials, press communications, official presentations, and the storytelling behind the event. To extend the forum’s impact beyond the venue itself, the agency also developed and managed its complete social media communication, including strategy, copywriting, graphic design, video content production, and community management.

With a strong strategic concept, meticulous execution, and a distinctive visual identity, Zero Waste Forum Vol. 1 became a benchmark for modern B2B event communication in Bulgaria, setting a new standard for how sustainability can be presented through meaningful experiences, compelling storytelling, and effective stakeholder engagement.
