Mate Bulgaria turned Sofia into the home of football during the 2014 World Cup
In 2014, when the world was celebrating football for the 20th time, Mate Bulgaria created one of the most exciting and large-scale football experiences in the country — Ariana Mondial Camp.
On the backside of the National Palace of Culture (NDK), we built a real “football city” that became a gathering place for fans of all ages throughout an entire month.
Across 1,900 sq. m we designed a space where thousands of enthusiasts watched the matches under a 300 sq. m covered area, featuring a central 12 sq. m LED wall and 10 additional screens. Our partners provided games, entertainment, and prizes that turned every football night into a true festival.
For one month, the heart of Sofia was all about football — loud, emotional, and united.
The result?
More than 1,000 visitors per day, thousands of liters of beer, and an unforgettable atmosphere that made Ariana Mondial Camp one of the most visited summer events.
What we did?
Mate Bulgaria was responsible for the complete concept, planning, and execution of the project. From the creative development and spatial design, through logistics, strategic partnerships, programming, and promotional activities — to on-site management of every detail. For us, Ariana Mondial Camp was a powerful demonstration of how an idea becomes a real experience when strategy, organization, and emotion work together.
Special guests at the opening included the legendary coach of the USA ’94 national team Dimitar Penev and the iconic Krasimir Balakov.
The event was also honored by the Acting Head of the Embassy of Brazil — Mr. Ricardo Guerra de Araújo, who applauded the initiative and the spirit of Bulgaria’s football community.
Ariana Mondial Camp 2014 remains a vivid example of how Mate Bulgaria turns ideas into experiences — and events into lasting emotions.
